The Marketplace is an area where you can buy or sell items. Since MajorIndulgence is an academic networking site, we encourage you to sell academic-related items such as textbooks. However, you have the freedom to list any item you want. Listing an item is free, and we do not charge any additional fees to the buyer or seller. How are transactions handled?
Currently, MajorIndulgence does not facilitate any transactions. It is up to the buyer and seller to communicate with each other via private messaging or email. We recommend that you deal locally if possible (ex: meeting on campus if both of you attend the same school). If you want to ship remotely to another person, it is your responsibility to come up with a reliable method for handling it. Tips for a successful listing:
(1) Always provide an image - A picture is worth a thousand words. Place items under good lighting environments and take images using the best camera you own. No amateur blur-vision!
(2) Use official names for items - Don't make it difficult for others to find your item by using uncommon abbreviations or misspelling the item name.
(3) Detailed full description - Thoroughly describe your item and get the facts right, especially with highly technical items like computers. Also, disclose all imperfections on used items and make sure your supplied image is sharp and large enough so that buyers can judge for themselves. Leave no surprises hidden when the buyer receives the item.
