The building industry shrank for the 35th consecutive month in April, the regular survey from Ulster Bank shows. With activity falling so rapidly, it is likely that this month will mark three years of continuous contraction in the industry.

Paul Raboud, the C.E.O. of Bird, stated that "the strong financial performance of the Fund was partially based on the execution of contracts relating to infrastructure projects and demonstrates a leadership position that we are developing in this market."

Construction Spending Declined in March
Spending on construction was running at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $847.3 billion in March, down 12.3% from a year earlier, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Spending on nonresidential construction led the decline in March, falling 17.4% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $586.8 billion.

Jeremy Porter, CEO of Atlanta Motorsports Park, said Wednesday that 25 people have been rehired by TW Phillps, a Dawsonville grading company, and two contractors have been hired by logging company Martin Timber.
