As I'm trying to keep up with technology's blistering pace, I've now found myself researching mobile web development because of a work requirement. Superficially and technically, mobile web development should be a lot easier than full fledged websites that you see on your laptops and desktops. However, factor in compatibility issues and insane JavaScripting, and you've got headaches right and left.

Since August 2nd, I've been employed at Ply Interactive. And so far, I'm learning new techniques that could be applied to the projects that I work on during my own time. Also, I would consider this new job the most diverse job I've ever had since I get to work on a variety of projects that vary in design and scope.

Just a note. A lot of the changes I have queued for MajorIndulgence is coming along quite slowly as of late. That's mainly because I'm also busy with the development of LegalTemple, another website project with a lawyer business partner of mine. Being able to launch the other project in beta, like MajorIndulgence, would be killing two birds with one stone. One, it would be my second web startup. And two, it would provide another great portfolio piece to show to potential employers. Of course, the ideal situation would be for MajorIndulgence and/or LegalTemple to take off and be self-employed!

I don't know why I didn't bother with it earlier (maybe it's because my JavaScript requirements were very simple), but now that I've played around with jQuery for a couple days, I think I'll implement some of the elegant functions into MajorIndulgence.

Out of all the things that I would fine tune on a site, alignment is probably #1 on my list. And not just kinda, sorta align. But pixel perfect alignment. Good thing Firefox has the MeasureIt add-on. I use it all the time.

Let's see...At work I do coding. And then outside of work I do more coding for MajorIndulgence and even more coding for LegalTemple. On one hand it's good practice for me to keep on coding to stay in rhythm (because you use it or lose it), but then my personal life is essentially diminished down to nothingness. But I believe in MI and LT, so I'll just have to keep on climbing that mountain.

Just thinking. The Internet and all the technologies within it move so much faster than the rest of the world. Which means I have to study and do my homework every few months to see if there are newer and better ways to do things. *sigh*

So as I was Googling Gossip Girl girls (because that's just what I do during work), I came across a Taylor Momsen interview where she explains how she juggles being a model, actress, and musician. I thought maybe this try-hard 16yo might have a clever way of doing it, but no. She just doesn't sleep.

Damn, I was hoping there might be a way for me to juggle all the things within my professional life without having to lose all kinds of sleep. Guess there's no way around it. At the very least though, if I'm going to live on little sleep, I should eat healthier and get rid of food that makes me sluggish.

On the home page, if you click on the header of the main content area, it takes you to the university directory. The CMS for the classes is still being coded. It will appear right underneath.
