Topic: Printer cartridges are so expensive! |
I just recently discovered that you can actually refill ink cartridges rather than buy new ones (excuse my ignorance if any of you have already been doing that for years). Of course, the companies that make the printers don't want you to know that. After all, they make more money selling the cartridges than the printers.
I have a Canon Pixma iP90v, and it cost me just $20 on ebay for a set of refill bottles that can refill the carts at least 50 times over. The cost of replacing the cartridges just once would be well over $20. So it is literally about 50X cheaper to refill carts yourself than toss them away and buy new ones.
Pretty much any inkjet printer has a way to refill carts. Do a little research, save a TON of money.

It's also a matter of principle. You don't want to support those kinds of practices.wha, i never knew that!! but i don't print often anyways. I'll check out ebay next time I'm out of ink.
