I saw this based on the e-hype surrounding the film and also the high ratings over at rottentomatoes, but I couldn't get into it, and it wasn't very scary. I found a lot of the scenes to be non-sensical, and the behaviors of the two main characters to be completely unrealistic considering the situation they were in.

It's also impossible to watch the film and not draw comparisons with Blair Witch. In a nutshell, if you haven't seen neither of them, rent Blair Witch and skip Paranormal Activity.

Yeah, I watched it online for free (I would have been mad if I had spent money) and I was let down big time. I wasn't sure if it was real or not when I heard about it and watched it, but basically, it would take a fool to think its real after watching half of it.

the whole board thing in the living room with the fire and wind was what really let me down, it looked really fake and played out

Yikes, and I just read on wikipedia that they are planning a sequel!
