I might raise a ****-storm with this, but hell it's the Internet.

First off let me just say that I was raised with religion, and then eventually dropped it completely. It just seemed like BS to me. My parents are still religious, but they accept that I'm no longer a believer.

I like to occupy my mind thinking about things that are real. And religion is just not real, like Santa Claus. I think if people had any ounce of critical thinking, they too would drop religion off their radar like I have.

I'm also glad that there are famous people out there that speak out against religion or declare themselves an atheist: George Carlin, Bill Maher, Kathy Griffin, Brad Pitt, Richard Dawkins. But there aren't enough that speak out, probably due to fear of losing popularity.

I pray (ha!) that one day people would realize just how outdated religion is, and wipe away that non-sense filth.

Whoa, you have a strong stance on it.

Personally I was never raised with religion, and I never adopted a religion anytime in my life. Not for me, but it's not like a dealbreaker to me if someone else is deeply religious.

Since you're a fan of Bill Maher, have you seen Religulous? I found it entertaining.

I've seen the film, and I wish Bill would've stuck it to those people even more. Bill is right in calling religion a neurological disorder.

oh my goodness! i was brought up catholic and i still keep it to this day. but i don't literally believe everything about it, as in down to the last letter. i've definitely become more aware as i got older. i think what's most important about religion are the teachings and ideas, not if this person or that person actually existed. and if i find those teachings and ideas to be virtuous, i can identify myself with a religion.

and i am most certainly not incapable of critical thinking either. i'm damn smart.   Tim knows.
