Topic: The physical design and ergonomics were enough for me to buy a Macbook Pro |
When I decided I needed a laptop in late 2006, I initially decided on a Dell Inspiron and ordered it. Once I received it, I was so disappointed by its design that I called up Dell for a return within 30 minutes. That same day, when I was in class, I asked a classmate of mine if I would test drive her 17" Macbook Pro, and it took me less than 15 minutes to decide that it was the laptop I wanted. After class, I went to the Apple store and bought a 15" Macbook Pro, and it still serves as my computer today.
I always respected Apple from an industrial design point of view, and the Macbook Pro specifically has excellent spatial and weight optimization. It is also clean and distraction free, and has a keyboard that is very easy to type with. I still prefer Windows over MacOSX, so I've been running XP on my Mac.
