Popular Gaming website lays out what MMO games it feels will be topping the charts in 2012.

10. Aion - Never played, subscription fees!
9. A Superhero Based Game (DC, Marvel, or Champions) - Can't imagine why this one made the list
8. World of Darkness - never heard of it, sounds interesting
7. EVE Online - Again, subscription fees, looks cool though
6. All Points Bulletin - Grand Theft Auto-ish game, probably will be terrible
5. Star Trek Online - 36-year-old geeks unite!
4. Final Fantasy XIV - Knew Square Enix would be on here somewhere
3. Star Wars: The Old Republic - (see Star Trek Online)
2. Guild Wars 2 - I played Guild Wars, hopefully second one is better
1. World of Warcraft - No surprise here, this game is going to top this kind of list for many years!

The top 5 I can foresee, but the other 5 are a toss-up, I wouldn't be surprised if some World of Warcraft expansion makes it way to this list, Damn you Blizzard for doing great things! Anyway, if you're interested, here's the whole story:

I would be interested in some kind of mmorpg where you don't kill or destroy anything for experience. Maybe a new paradigm shift in gameplay.

yes, grinding is annoying...

there are MMO's that claim they do away with grinding by making more quests, but the quests they introduce are quests that require you to kill a specific number of one kind of enemy or gather something that's dropped by a certain enemy, thereby disguising the fact that you're grinding by tricking you into thinking your doing a quest, it's very clever!
