YES YES YES!  

Lifestyle, life choices, career/job choices, etc. My mother gives her bad opinions on just about everything, and makes them seem like they're facts and tries to get me to follow them.

And she wonders why we're so distant on a social level and I never ever want to do anything with her. At this point we are only mother and son on a technical level. So sad it had to end up this way.

I hope all you parents out there let your children find their own way, and I hope all you children out there realize that the sure way to end up exactly like your parents is to follow every bit of advice they give you.
