It just came out today. The UI is improved, but so far I don't see any major functionality improvements.

Still the best free anti-virus I think.

Just installed it today. I got rid of my old anti-virus a long time ago when you suggested Avast. It's really nice, and doesn't have all kinds of nonsense running in the background. Thanks for the suggestion

I'm looking at the Processes column in Windows Task Manager, and I see that Avast only has 2 running at a total of 8,636K. Very tiny memory footprint. And I didn't disable any of its features either.
