As a reference to Lady Gaga, she titled her debut album The Fame because of her obsession with it. Good for her for living up to the title.

But as I'm sitting here at my desk wondering about what I want in my professional life, I know one thing for sure: I don't want to toil away in obscurity, never realizing my potential. The thought depresses me.

I feel it's only natural for people (whatever industry it is that you're in) to want to be rockstars in what you do. Why not? You get the exposure, access to the best projects, meet the best people, earn the biggest paychecks, receive the awards/accolades/recognition, and you're famous and possibly others would feel compelled to write a wikipedia article about you.

To put it simply, yes I do pursue the fame. I could use Gaga's relentlessness.
