They just need to keep it simplier for people. I don't know anyone that likes that fact that there are so many versions.

it is a little ridiculous. My dad was actually doing a little cleaning at his work and found unopened copied of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access 1997. They each were individually packaged, and all three still had the original shrink-wrapping and store tags from where they were purchased. Sadly, even in 1997, there were multiple versions of Office 97'.

It's a little ridiculous. I can't even imagine the amount of time that was wasted coming up with version names and which software was to be included in which versions. What a mess
