I attended UW Seattle between 2003-2007, but within days when I first moved into the dorms, I received word of HuskyHub, the unofficial file sharing hub opened only to those on the university's network.

Today, they even have a site set up to help people get on via DC++.

My University doesn't have one as far as I know, but I know a couple people who go to Purdue University and they say that Purdue has their own underground network of files and such, mainly music and movies. I think every university should have something like this that is controlled and operated by the student body. I know that when I lived on Campus and was on their network, there was someone who was sharing his iTunes library over the network and he had like 150 movies in his Library that anyone with iTunes could watch!
