I was about to sign up with Creative Circle, a staffing agency. After reading around the Internets about their business practices and experiences from people who did sign up, I opted to cancel my interview with them. I'd rather just go through direct employment with a company and cut the middleman.

i myself never found much use for agencies. got all my work directly from my employers.
