Today while I was downloading the 2.5GB Xcode SDK from Apple, my Firefox just froze up without me doing anything at all. And so I go to my task manager and noticed that the ram usage was nearly at 100%.
Apparently Firefox stores in-progress downloads in RAM before it writes it to the hard drive. WTF.
It should be writing to the drive incrementally.
It basically means that if your download file size exceeds your RAM, the shit's gonna hit the fan. FAIL!
