Comparing sites side by side with my work screens, it's so painfully apparent that my laptop LCD has aged really badly.

Thinking about getting a Dell U2711. Or maybe even one of those really high end NEC PA monitors.

I was in the market a while ago for a new monitor when my 19" took a crap. I was going to get a 28" Alienware that cost ~$300, Then I started reading reviews and came across several comparison studies. What I found was that most monitors are in fact exactly the same, brand name and inputs are really all it comes down to. After coming to this conclusion, I ended up buying two Acer x223w monitors. Now I have two 22" monitors side by side and it makes things a lot easier. The best part is, the two monitors cost a total of ~$275, making them cheaper than one Alienware monitor, also I have an extra 12 or 14 inches of screen. :)

Are those matte screens? I hate the trend of super glossy screens. I can always see my reflection in them.
